Mike has been training for the annual bike race for a year. Everyday, he wakes up early, works out at the gym, and rides his bike for several hours. Mike is tired from all this training, but he feels confident that he is in the best shape of his life. On the morning of the race, Mike wakes up early. He drinks a protein shake, and has a bowl of pasta for energy. Then, Mike puts on his biking gear. He has a small feeling of anxiousness, but that only helps make him more excited. Mike arrives at the start of the race, and after registering, he takes his place among the other bikers. He feels confident and ready. When the official blows his gun to signal the beginning of the race, Mike takes off as fast as he can. His feeling of anxiousness is now replaced with a feeling of excitement. He pedals to the front of the race, and he can feel the wind in his hair. Suddenly, Mike sees one of his competitors right next to him! Determined to win, MIke pedals harder and harder, until he reaches the finish line. He crosses it just before his competitor, earning first place. The crowd cheers as Mike is victorious.
